கர்த்தாவே, என் இருதயம் இறுமாப்புள்ளதல்ல, என் கண்கள் மேட்டிமையுள்ளவைகளுமல்ல; பெரிய காரியங்களிலும், எனக்கு மிஞ்சின கருமங்களிலும் நான் தலையிடுகிறதுமில்லை.
A Song of degrees of David. LORD, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.

தாயின் பால்மறந்த குழந்தையைப்போல, நான் என் ஆத்துமாவை அடக்கி அமரப்பண்ணினேன்; என் ஆத்துமா பால் மறந்த குழந்தையைப்போல் இருக்கிறது.
Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.

இதுமுதல் என்றென்றைக்கும் இஸ்ரவேல் கர்த்தரை நம்பியிருப்பதாக.
Let Israel hope in the LORD from henceforth and for ever.
