சங்கீதம் 120

என் நெருக்கத்திலே கர்த்தரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட்டேன்; அவர் எனக்குச் செவிகொடுத்தார்.
A Song of degrees. In my distress I cried unto the LORD, and he heard me.

கர்த்தாவே, பொய் உதடுகளுக்கும் கபடநாவுக்கும் என் ஆத்துமாவைத் தப்புவியும்.
Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.

கபடநாவே, உனக்கு என்ன கிடைக்கும்? உனக்கு என்ன செய்யப்படும்?
What shall be given unto thee? or what shall be done unto thee, thou false tongue?
4
பலவானுடைய கூர்மையான அம்புகளும், சூரைச்செடிகளை எரிக்கும் தழலுமே கிடைக்கும்.
Sharp arrows of the mighty, with coals of juniper.

ஐயோ! நான் மேசேக்கிலே சஞ்சரித்தது போதும், கேதாரின் கூடாரங்களண்டையிலே குடியிருந்ததும் போதும்!
Woe is me, that I sojourn in Mesech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar!

சமாதானத்தைப் பகைக்கிறவர்களிடத்தில் என் ஆத்துமா குடியிருந்ததும் போதும்!
My soul hath long dwelt with him that hateth peace.
7
நான் சமாதானத்தை நாடுகிறேன்; அவர்களோ, நான் பேசும்போது யுத்தத்துக்கு எத்தனப்படுகிறார்கள்.
I am for peace: but when I speak, they are for war.
