சங்கீதம் 123

பரலோகத்தில் வாசமாயிருக்கிறவரே, உம்மிடத்திற்கு என் கண்களை ஏறெடுக்கிறேன்.
A Song of degrees. Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.

இதோ, வேலைக்காரரின் கண்கள் தங்கள் எஜமான்களின் கையை நோக்கியிருக்குமாப்போலவும், வேலைக்காரியின் கண்கள் தன் எஜமாட்டியின் கையை நோக்கியிருக்குமாப்போலவும், எங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் எங்களுக்கு இரக்கஞ்செய்யும்வரைக்கும், எங்கள் கண்கள் அவரை நோக்கியிருக்கிறது.
Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.

எங்களுக்கு இரங்கும் கர்த்தாவே, எங்களுக்கு இரங்கும்; நிந்தனையினால் மிகவும் நிறைந்திருக்கிறோம்.
Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.

சுகஜீவிகளுடைய நிந்தனையினாலும், அகங்காரிகளுடைய இகழ்ச்சியினாலும், எங்கள் ஆத்துமா மிகவும் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது.
Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.
