இஸ்ரவேல் சித்தீமிலே தங்கியிருக்கையில், ஜனங்கள் மோவாபின் குமாரத்திகளோடே வேசித்தனம் பண்ணத்தொடங்கினார்கள்.
And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.

அவர்கள் தங்கள் தேவர்களுக்கு இட்ட பலிகளை விருந்துண்ணும்படி ஜனங்களை அழைத்தார்கள்; ஜனங்கள்ப் போய் புசித்து, அவர்கள் தேவர்களைப் பணிந்துகொண்டார்கள்.
And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.
